Sara also spreads her message through her merchandise line, encouraging people through the hashtags #findyournote and #shineyourlight.

After getting thousands of comments on her Youtube videos where people would essentially knock themselves down just because they couldn’t play piano as well as her, Sara is passionate about helping people find their one talent – whether that be music, theater, public speaking, or whatever it may be.

When we all discover our own talents, we can appreciate each other more and use our gifts to bless those around us.

Sarah Tanner

Sarah Tanner

Do you know many YouTubers that have channels with hundreds of thousands of subscribers that decide to push the stop button and start a brand new channel, just to tell the world that they are worth it? Yeah, neither do I. But that is exactly what Sarah Tanner and her husband, Johnny, did.

Sarah and Johnny put their main channel “The Tannerites” on the side burner, only posting there a few times a week and now post daily under the channel name “The Yawi Family.”

Yawi means “You are worth it” – and it’s a message that everyone deserves to hear every day. That is why the Yawi family sign off every vlog by saying, “You Are Worth It.”

Lyza Bull

Lyza Bull

Lyza Bull is a singer and dancer whose talents are pretty well-known thanks to her incredible YouTube videos that have a propensity to go viral. In 2018, her mashup of The Greatest Showman has received over 6.7 millions views, and it came at just the right time.

Lyza and her mom, Shaundee, were seriously considering giving up on YouTube but decided to stick it out. Thanks to their uber-successful video, and a special message from a fan (read about that here) they decided to keep making awesomeness – and boy are we glad they did!

“Much of the major growth that is coming to the Church in the last days will come because many of the good women of the world (in whom there is often such an inner sense of spirituality) will be drawn to the Church in large numbers.

This will happen to the degree that the women of the Church reflect righteousness and articulateness in their lives and to the degree that the women of the Church are seen as distinct and different—in happy ways—from the women of the world.” – Spencer W. Kimball

“Sixteen years ago I learned an important life lesson, in the back of a New York City taxi cab. . I hopped in a taxi, and we took off for Grand Central Station. We were driving in the right lane when, all of a sudden, a black car jumped out of a parking space right in front of us. . . My taxi driver slammed on his brakes, skidded, and missed the other car by mere inches! The driver of the other car, the guy who almost caused a big accident, whipped his head around and started yelling bad words at us. My taxi driver just smiled and waved at the guy. And I mean, he was actually friendly! . So, I asked him, "Why did you just do that? This guy almost ruined your car and could've sent us to the hospital!" And this is when my taxi driver told me about what I now call, "The Law of Garbage Trucks." "Many people are like Garbage Trucks. They run around full of garbage, full of frustration, full of anger, and full of disappointment. As their garbage piles up, they need a place to dump it, and if you let them, they'll dump it on you. When someone wants to dump on you, don't take it personally. Instead, just smile, wave, wish them well, and move on. You'll be happier because you did." . -The Law of the Garbage Truck . Have you ran into people who tried to dump their garbage on you lately? Have you been the one to dump your garbage on them? As a mother, I feel I dump my garbage on my kids or my husband frequently, like a few days ago when I went to bed at 5 a.m., they got the crankiest mom for the day.😅 I’m trying to take care of myself and make sure I’m happy and well-rested so that my kids will get the best version of me as their mother. And sleep is #1! But it’s so hard because I love staying up late in silence where no one is calling my name every 5 seconds or needing me. I don’t need to listen, do something for someone else, help, feed, listen, wash, change, entertain, listen(SO MUCH listening all day long) to anyone but me. So that’s my biggest struggle, going to bed early. What is your #1 obstacle from being the best version of yourself?

Although there were lots of struggles and tears, mixed with insecurities and fears, she has come out on top and is riding the wave of success.

Aleisha McDonald

Aleisha McDaniel

If you know Aleisha, you know that she feels very strongly that women need women. People need to feel loved, and beautiful, and wanted – and Aleisha takes that responsibility upon herself for those in her sphere.

She is incredible – just a dynamite woman. Her bio on Instagram reads “Award-winning writer, speaker, blogger, cookie eater, nonprofit owner, Diet Coke drinker, autism mama!” That gives you a sense for her spunk and sense of humor.

One of the coolest things Aleisha does is randomly gift piñatas full of goodies to people to show them they are loved and remembered. Just last week she dropped off piñata number 153 to a single mother in her neighbor.

The first time my wife met her, Aleisha told her she was beautiful and gave her a big hug. She instantly became one of my wife’s favorite people. Is it any wonder why?

Camille Walker

Camille Walker

Camille is awesome, and if you see her she’ll most likely have a smile on her face.

“If you can dream it, you can do it. Always remember that this whole thing was started by a mouse.” ~Walt Disney 💫 I think so often it is easy to get swept away in the comparison trap when we are seeing the highlight reel of everyone else’s lives on social media. • What we don’t see are the late nights, the self-doubt, the mistakes, or total failures that lead to future successes. Motherhood can often feel the same way. • It’s hard to imagine nowadays that Groupon started off as a single blog post. That AirBnb started by renting off a single airbed in their apartment. And Instagram simply started off as a photo filter app. “Big things have small beginnings” — Lawrence of Arabia. • Never doubt for one second the impact and difference you are making every day as a mother. You may not have a standing applause or a Fortune 500 company, but the heart and souls that you are shaping are worth more than any accolade this world has to offer. And in my humble opinion it takes just as much tenacity and grit. • So whether you are working on your next big idea or wiping another bum, chin up mamas, you are shaping the future. 👊🏻💗 • • • • #futureleaders #motherhood #disneymom #disneyland #mommyandme #momlife #momlifeisthebestlife #momlifestyle #momlife❤️ #mymommystyle #motherhood #travelblogger #utahblogger #mompreneur #childhood

Rachel Bennett

Rachel Bennett

A few years ago, Rachel, a mother of 5 awesome kids, decided that she wanted to get a job. After talking with her husband, Jase, they decided to give YouTube a shot instead to see if it could provide some side income.

That was a good choice.

A couple million subscribers and a few channels later, Rachel no longer has the itch to find a job.

Rachel and her family have built a YouTube empire on the foundation of family, fun, and friendship. Their largest channel, The Ohana Adventure, is close to 2 million subscribers and approaching 500 million views!

Rachel is incredibly fun, adventurous, and genuinely kind to everyone. She is a great organizer and makes things happen. After a super successful 2018, we can’t wait to see what she and her family accomplish in 2019.

Guys…your excitement about my sale today 😭. All. The. Feels. Whenever I run a sale (which isn’t often) I tend to get nervous. I’m not exactly sure why, I guess because it feels “salesy” (SO not my jam) and mostly makes me wonder if people will get the wrong impression about this little slice of the interwebs that I care so much about. Because, here’s the thing… • Almost 9 years ago I was preparing to have my 1st baby. Finances were a mess, our debt growing by the minute, our income virtually nonexistent, and though we were blissfully ignorant, we were terrified and in over our heads. • After an unsuccessful search for someone who could teach me how to manage my money without sacrificing quality of life (aka: nuh UH honey, don’t you tell me I can’t spend money or go to Target ever again!), I decided to figure it out on my own. Having never even taken a formal finance class, I hit it hard anyway, and trial and error became my best friend. • Wouldn’t you know, starting from scratch and figuring things out MY way, worked. So well, in fact, we paid off $15k of credit card debt and a $10k car loan in 13 months (on a $31k income!). It continued to work so well, we saved up enough to buy the deal of a lifetime, a short-sale in a million-dollar neighborhood. It continued to work so well, we built up our savings, stayed out of debt, sold the short-sale for enough to get us into our current dream home. It cont’d to work so well, that we have increased our income, became completely debt-free (including paying off our house, story coming soon!), and most importantly, we’ve been able to help hundreds of thousands of families across the globe to do the same thing. • So, no. This isn’t “just a sale” for me. This is my war cry that HOLY HECK FRICK YA MAMA it is possible. You CAN do it. It’s NOT as hard as you think it is. It IS worth it. It CAN be done. As uncomfortable as it can feel to put myself out there sometimes, I’ll continue to do it until I can’t talk (or dance pregnant in sparkly heels) any more if it means you get to live the life of your dreams, like I’m living mine. Thank you for supporting and believing in me, as much as I believe in you.#FreebsNation ❤

Jordan loves to party, is incredible at making friends, and is not afraid to speak her mind and give great advice. I was able to attend a conference with her this past year and every time she made a comment to the group I thought, “I wish I had said that.”

Jordan and her husband, Bubba, are certainly a power couple and have devoted a lot of their time and resources to break down barriers of misunderstanding regarding their religious beliefs.

With as good as 2018 was, we can’t wait to see what Jordan has up her sleeve for 2019! Perhaps her own TV show?!

Latter-day Saint Women Who Crushed it in 2018

This list of women who have done incredible things in 2018 is, needless to say, not all-inclusive. If I had more time I could write another 5 articles detailing incredible women who are doing amazing things.

Now it’s your turn. Comment below and tell me the name of a woman you know that has done incredible things in 2018. How have they impacted your life?

It’s a good experience to give praise, and it will feel even better to the receiver of your compliments to know they are recognized for their awesomeness.

She is an amazing woman with a testimony of steel. She is the oldest of 3 girls born to an awesome family. She and the middle sister were both born with a terminal disease…Cystic Fibrosis. She just spent her 2nd Christmas in a row in the hospital. I can’t even tell you how strong she is.

  • Many of those women are on my list too. Thanks for compiling a list of goodness. I would say the list for me is so long. Thanks for let’s sharing light Ben.

  • This is dedicated to all the Women of faith reading this right now sitting on a couch, no bra, looking at a huge pile of laundry, while eating a piece of leftover Christmas candy and wondering, “what have I done that’s so amazing in 2018”? Well I’m here to tell everyone of you, (even the ones with bras) that YOU ARE AMAZING! Your biggest accomplishment may be just getting up each day and pushing through a crappy job just to feed your kids. Maybe getting your kids to church on time every week as a single Mom was your biggest highlight. Not dropping the F Bomb…as much and feeding your kids a vegetable once a week was my biggest accomplishment in 2018!👍🏼 ….I admire all the amazing women that take it to the next level and are changing this world one awesome moment as a time, but here’s to the women that think they are less than, never enough, that don’t think they are beautiful enough or tumble, tubelar oh wait tumblr…ya that’s it! Don’t look to the left or the right and think you are not amazing!
God loves the perfectly imperfect you!
Here’s to 2019 of maybe much of the same of what 2018 held, but with way more self love! ❤️

  • Suzanne Bailey….. who just commented above speaking the words my heart felt as I read about the amazing women above. Some my friends and I know personally, some I’ve never met but am thoroughly impressed with and then thought “Wow, Why is it taking me so long to get on my game…..? Oh…. because life happens and courage and abilities come in their own time.” Forward progress step by step is what each of these authentic, vulnerable women have taken…. they’ve stepped out of themselves to be brave.

I love seeing how amazing and courageous these women are and I love hearing Suzanne articulate the support for millions of women living courageously everyday!

You women everywhere have your own special purpose and mission. Your own realm and sphere of influence.

Thank you Suzanne for sharing your beautiful way with words and touching base for so many women.

And thank you all those dynamic women who share their light.

And thank you for all those women who don’t feel dynamic…..being who you are and sharing your gifts and talents matter and have an incredible ripple effect on all the lives you touch.

  • Have you read this article yet? https://www.lds.org/general-conference/2018/10/the-correct-name-of-the-church?lang=eng

It’s an article written by our Prophet. He is the president of our church.

Please change the name of your blog, and the name of this article. The name of the church these women belong to is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. You are leaving out the name of Jesus Christ, and it’s most offensive to Him.

Other names you could use: “When a shortened [second] reference is needed, the terms ‘the Church’ or the ‘Church of Jesus Christ’ are encouraged. The ‘restored Church of Jesus Christ’ is also accurate and encouraged.”

Thank you very much for your cooperation.

    Sincerely,

    Gwen Owens
