Hallelujah Like You’ve Never Heard It Before (Like, We Promise)

Hallelujah” is a song written by Canadian singer Leonard Cohen. Achieving little initial success, the song found greater popular acclaim through a recording by John Cale, which inspired a recording by Jeff Buckley

Now an LDS version of Hallelujah has shown up on the scene, and it has brand new powerful lyrics as well.

Two LDS sister missionaries serving in the Italy Milan Mission recorded a version of this song which tells the story of Joseph Smith and the Restoration of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

It’s not the first time we’ve heard from Sister Arkell. She also performed a medley of missionary songs on her guitar last month to help encourage those missionaries who may be struggling.

It’s a wonderful way to teach the principles of the gospel of Jesus Christ to people who can recognize the familiar tune of the song.
