After a short stay in the hospital, Elder L. Tom Perry, 92, a member of the LDS Church’s Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, returned home Wednesday night and is resting comfortably.
Wednesday afternoon, church spokesman Eric Hawkins said Elder Perry was in the hospital “for tests and observation following some breathing difficulties.”
Elder Perry has been an apostle of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for 41 years, making him the second-most senior member of the Quorum of the Twelve.
My youngest son (who is 12) loves Elder Perry and when we went to LDS Conference in April 2015, he got a picture of him at the Deseret Bookstore. I mentioned the news on this site and he is already saying prayers for this great leader.
Hopefully he will be alright. Tell your son “Thank you” for the prayers on Elder Perry’s behalf.
Elder Perry, we will include you in our daily prayers. Get well soon
I am speaking on the death of L. Tom Perry. I am writing this on June 31, 2015 and as you all know by now, passed away yesterday. I know that the Father and the Lord must have needed him right now because his health declined so quickly. I love all of the prophets and apostles and I know they love the membership of the church and the people everywhere in the world, but I will miss L. Tom Perry more than I can say. This beloved and incredible man always said the things in his conference talks that answered my questions, said the things I personally needed to hear at the time and enthusiastically, carefully, and quickly got to the point and kept matters in sink. He will always be in the hearts of many. Thank You Elder Perry. I look forward to seeing you again.
Thanks for this wonderful tribute – it’s nice to hear that you had such a good connection with him.
